Maid cafe

Have you been to one of those “maid” cafes? If you are into anime characters and AKB48, you would definitely want to visit one of the cafes in Japan. ^_^ “Waitresses”, cute and young girls dressed in “maid” costumes would be serving you drinks and food. Maid cafe isn’t quite like host or hostess bars. You will still get to chat with cute girls and they don’t have to bring in their “clients” every night. And if you are a nerd (“otaku”), you would like Maid cafe more than any other clubs. Does Moe cafe offer sex? On the surface, they don’t and they insist that. Because these maids are basically the waitresses in cute costumes and maids can entertain you, make you feel important and some people say they experienced “out of touch” type of reality.

People who are not familiar with Japanese culture would probably be asking “why do men go to maid cafe?” I really don’t have an answer to that. I guess some men are really into the fantasy world and also he will be treated like a “master” during those hours he spends with his maids so it is definitely a ego booster. But what is maid cafe? Do they have any rules?

1) Time-I guess you pay by the hours so you will have to leave the cafe once your time is up!

2) You are not supposed to touch..-this was unexpected because I thought there were some type of skin ships allowed with maids. this must be disappointing for many men!

Apparently there is one maid cafe opened in NYC Chinatown. I don’t know how’s that going but I am sure that they are as odd as maids coffee shops in Japan. But if you are visiting Japan for the first time and want to experience something different, maid cafe may be the place to go..? ^_^
