Japan Has Four Beautiful Seasons

My students often ask me what’s the weather like in Japan.
So I decided to create a presentation using this innovative presentation editor called “Prezi”.
There are 4 seasons in Japan. In Spring, cherry blossom blooms everywhere, and it is beautiful. Ohanami is a Japanese custom. You see Sakura (Cherry blossoms) all over Japan from the end of March to early May.
Around this time, Japanese people enjoy outdoor parties beneath the cherry blossoms.
I used to bring obentou(lunch box) and enjoyed having lunch with my family beneath the cherry blossoms.

Around the beginning of June, Tsuyu (the rainy season) starts.
Tsuyu usually lasts until mid July. I personally find some sights such as temples and traditional Japanese gardens beautiful especially in the rain.

In summer, it gets very hot and humid in Japan. The temperature can get as high as over 35 degrees Celsius, so it can be extremely unpleasant without air conditioner. But summer is still a good time to visit Japan because many omatsuri (festivals) are held. Hanabi Taikai(the fireworks events) take place at night everywhere in July and August. Fireworks represent summer in Japan. Japanese fireworks are truly one of the best in the world.
Even though it becomes very crowded, it is still worthwhile going to the fireworks festivalon a hot night in Japan.

Then the typhoon season reaches it peak around in September. When the fall begins, the colors of leaves change. I think this is the best time to visit Japan. You can see the beautiful Kouyou (colored leaves).

Winter months start from December, and officially ends in February.
Hokkaido is the largest prefecture in Japan, and the Snow Festivals in Sappro is the place to visit in winter.
I have never been to Hokaido, so it has been my dream to visit there one day. 😉
