Dialogue

Mary: Sumimasen. Kore wa ikura desuka.

Mary: Excuse me. How much is this? 

Mise no hito: sore wa sanzen en desu.

Store clerk: It is 3,000 yen.

Mary: takai desu ne. jaa, ano tokei wa ikura desuka.

Mary: It is expensive, isn’t it? Well, how much is that watch?

Mise no hito: Are wa sanzengohyaku en desu.

Store clerk: That one is 3,500 yen.

Mary: sou desu ka. are mo takai desu ne.

Mary: I see. That one is expensive too.

Mise no hito: Kore wa senhappyaku en desu yo.

Store clerk: This is 1,800 yen.

Mary: Jaa, sono tokee o kudasai.

Mary: Ok, I will take that one.

A man finds a wallet on the ground

Shiranai hito: Kore wa dare no saifu desuka.

Stranger: Whose wallet is this?

Mary: Watashi no saifu desu. Arigatou Gozaimasu.

Mary: It is my wallet. Thank you very much.

After shopping, Mary goes to a restaurant.

Ueetoresu: Irasshaimase. Menu o doozo.

Waitress: Welcome! Here is the menu.

Mary: Doomo. Kore wa nan desuka.

Mary: Thanks. What is this?

Waitress: Dore desuka? Aa tonkatu desu.

Waitress: Which one? Oh, it’s tonkatu.

Mary: Tonkatu? Sakana desuka.

Mary: Tonkatu? Is it fish?

Waitress: Iie. Sakana ja nai desu. Niku desu. Oishii desu yo.

Waitress: No. It is not fish. It is meat. It’s delicious.

Mary: Jaa kore o onegaishimasu.

Mary: Well then, I will have this.

Mary: Excuse me. Where is the restroom?

Waitress: Asoko desu.

Waitress: It’s over there.
