Japanese women buying therapeutic crying experience

I wrote an article about Japan’s rental girlfriend service. Men are literally paying girlfriends for rent so they can experience pseudo romance. I can understand that some men that are really shy want to practice going on dates with attractive girls that wouldn’t judge them.

More Japanese women are financially independent today. So there are rent a boyfriend services and there are women who rent good looking boyfriends. But this is very interesting. I recently learned about this cool service in Japan.

Women can actually hire a handsome man who would help them heal from stress by helping them cry. Crying has a healing effect, but this service is just..a little..

You can go to this website to check out what this service is all about!

Women in Japan can pay 8,000 yen to hire one of registered ikemeso (the word is a combination of ikemen (hot guy) and mesomeso (weeping)) at this company, and a man of your choice will come to your office.

It is easy. All you need to do is to watch the video presented by ikemeso..let yourself heal by becoming emotional and cry.

Once you are in tears, the licensed professional crying therapist say kind words and wipe your tears softly..hum..that is very healing, isn’t it?

Vice interviewed the founder of Ikemeso. Hiroki Terai, the owner of Ikemeso, says that Japanese women typically struggle with showing emotions because of the culture and they are under enormous stress. So his business has been doing very well, and even though people may find his business concept bizarre, I guess nothing is off-limits in modern Japanese society.

It is really stressful for professional women to work in male dominated fierce work-force. So Ikemeso can be a good coping mechanism.

These handsome men are not some random people who offer comfort to stressed business women. They are *certified* crying therapist. I had never heard of such certification but crying is very healing..so these guys can give Japanese women a chance to be vulnerable and that’s when real healing starts…
