Universal studios japan to boost the tourists
|
This is very exciting. The Harry Potter attraction was opened at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka recently. Harry Potter series are so popular not only in Japan, but all over the world. And this is the first Harry Potter themed attraction outside the United States. The theme park was crowded with fans who were eager to experience the brand new attraction in Japan. And the Japan attraction is only the second in the world after Universal Studios Orlando, which opened the Diagon Alley expansion last week.
I don’t like theme parks in general because I am afraid of roller coasters. But I would like to experience the world of Harry Potter..This is so amazing.
The new attraction cost $444 million and this new attraction will be used to attract more tourists from Asia. Japanese government recently relaxed visa requirements for people in certain S.E. countries.
The new attraction is predicted to bring in an extra 2 million admissions annually to the park. Day passes, express tickets, along with many travel and accommodation packages are all sold out for the park for the first few days of the new attraction based on the Harry Potter franchise. J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books were huge sellers in Japanese, while the first movie in the franchise, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, is the fourth-highest grossing film of all time in Japan. It took in around $200 million at today’s exchange rate, and was only recently bumped out of the third spot by Frozen.
The nine-acre attraction is a huge investment for USJ, representing half of its current annual sales. (read more on hollywood reporter)
New Harry Potter area opens at USJ theme park
About 3,000 people, some of whom spent the night in line, were at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka for the launch of a new Harry Potter-themed attraction Tuesday.
The opening ceremony was attended by actor Tom Felton, who played the role of Draco Malfoy in the films.
The new attraction, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, features a huge recreation of Hogwarts Castle, which houses a school for wizards. With state-of-the-art video technology, visitors can experience a virtual flight above the castle with Harry Potter.
