Benefits of sunlight


I want to share this interesting article about the benefits of sunlight. Sunshine can cause skin cancer and we definitely have to be cautious about applying proper amount of sunscreen before going outside. But new research shows that sunlight actually actually reduce the risk of high blood pressure and hypertension. According to the journal published by this researcher, nitric oxide in our skin does the trick. I had never heard of this before..obviously I am not a chemist. ^_^; I was reading this article because my dad suffers from cardiovascular disease and it’s been thirty years since he was diagnosed and started taking meds. He will likely to take meds for the rest of his life.

This is just a beginning of bigger finding..regardless of blood pressure, we should take a walk in the sun for 10-15 minutes a day because sunlight helps with depression and also convert vitamin D to calcium so it is good for our bone. Just for this health reason, it’s worthwhile to take a brisk walk in good weather.
