Hello! My name is Yumi. I was born and raised in Japan and moved to the US to go to college. I have a bachelor degree in social science from University of California, Los Angeles and currently going to a graduate school to get my Master’s degree in social work. My passion is helping others achieve their goal, language, culture and travel.

My background is quite unique that I briefly lived in different countries as a child and since my mother isn’t Japanese, I have always been her personal Japanese language tutor. It is quite funny when I think about it now, but this is why I am good at what I do, helping others achieve their goal.

I have an online teaching certificate from University of California, San Diego extension program, and I have taught both individuals and small groups of all levels online and offline. But I am offering private tutoring services on Skype at this time.

Lessons are customized to meet your specific needs and learning style, so you would get the most out of it. Also it is very important that you enjoy what you learn so I do my best to make my lessons fun and productive.
