Prostitution and LINE

Since minors are using “smart often” more than ever before in diversified settings, The Board of Education in Japan launched the Internet users survey that target middle and high school students in Hokkaido. October last year, a 14-year old girl met a 26-year old man through the popular app called “LINE”. After exchanging the text messages vis LINE several times, she agreed to meet in the city of Sapporo. The man invited the girl who didn’t have a place to stay into his home. He allegedly committed indent acts with the girl at this home. At a later date, police arrested the man. According to the Dokei Juvenile Division, 89 girls were victimized sexually by men whom they met on the internet in a year. The majority of these victims have been reported to use free call apps as “LINE”.

This is pretty sad but I think parents need to be more aware of their children and should check in with a child once in a while if you notice any behavioral changes.Even when I was in high school, many sexual abuse cases were reported and it eventually led to Japanese government enforcing stricter laws on child abuse and prostitution. LINE is easy to use so it is becoming increasingly simple and convenient for these minor girls to connect to older men who are willing to pay them to have sex. I don’t think LINE should be the only one getting warning from the government because thi has been an ongoing issue. I didn’t have cellular phone let alone LINE back then but these girls knew where to look for. So I think the education is the most important and that’s the only way to resolve any issues like this.
