SoftBank created the world’s first personal robot with emotions. His name is Pepper and he does not cook or clean.
But he’s got emotions and talks.
People have been buying the Pepper for companionship but many consumers are retails that buy Pepper so he can greet at the store.
The friendly Pepper has been selling out for months with over 7,000 units sold so far. The more exciting news is that Pepper will be able to do much more because of the partnership between Softbank and IBM.
They recently announced that the companies will be collaborating to develop a Watson-powered version of the Pepper robot and developers can add more functions so the new Pepper will be able to analyze data, making recommendations and converse.
