Tutoring Japanese

I started tutoring my native language in college. So that was about 10 years ago. I cannot believe time flies by so fast. I didn’t have a particular reason why I decided to tutor Japanese. I was a foreign student back then, and there were people who were interested in learning Japanese. So it was a natural thing to do. But when I first started, I did not know anything about grammar and types of verbs and adjectives! I didn’t even know language has all kinds of rules. Just like in English, Japanese has verb conjugations. There are specific verbs indicating past and present moment. Adjectives conjugate too, so it is a little different from English.

But anyways as I tutor more students, I began to learn new things about my language and culture. My background is in sociology so I am always interested in learning foreign languages and cultures. You will find many blogs about social issues, which I can’t seem to stop writing about. 🙂
