Dreams Come True
|
Dreams Come True is a popular Japanese band which was formed in the late 80s. Wow..they have been around for a long time and I do consider them the most “distinguished” band from Japan. Miwa Yoshida is a very likable person, the lead singer for the band and the band is also known as “Dori-Camu”! I know it sounds funny but if you are familiar with Japanese language, yo know how Japanese people pronounce English words. ^_^ Miwa Yoshida is nearly 50s and it is unbelievable because she hasn’t aged a bit since her old days..of course just like any other singers, she looks funny in the 80s and the early 90s! What I like about this group is that:
- They write and produce their own music. (Miwa Yoshida and Masatao Nakamura (the guitarlist) have been writing music together mostly during the last 10 years or so.)
- They don’t incorporate English phrases into their music. (Miwa Yoshida sings their songs so beautifully, and I like it because she makes us appreciate the beauty of Japanese words and phrases. She embraces Japanese words and I just like the way she sings her songs while beautifully embracing our language. I do not know how to explain this but many Japanese pop artists are obsessed with singing Japanese songs with some English phrases)
- ..And they also have produced many “ENGLISH” songs and Miwa Yoshida’s English is pretty good. I personally do not wish Japanese singers who can’t really say “everything”, “girls” etc to sing English phrases with accents. I guess they sound cute but it’s kind of embarrassing. But Miwa Yoshida’s English accents are quite good and so I like it.)
- They write the best LOVE songs. Their music is definitely more for us..girls!
- ..AND their concerts are A LOT of fun!!! They literally turn the concert into the amusement park. It’s so much fun.
- Miwa Yoshida is an excellent singer. She can’t dance like Namie Amuro but her style is completely different from Namie Amuro.
Anyways, I can come up with more reasons why I think they are the best and the oldest Japanese band and these are my personal favorite DORI-CAMU’s music. Let me know what you think!
