Miss International harrassed

Poor woman..Ikumi Yoshimatsu filed criminal and civil charges against a major Japanese talent agency for harassment and defamation. Yoshimatsu won the title of Miss International..this is the very first time for Japanese woman to win this specific contest. But now she is filing criminal and civil charges against a powerful talent agent who has allegedly tried to ruin her career. Genichi Tanigushi is an executive of the powerful talent agency and he allegedly harassed Yoshimatsu and her family in an attempt to ruin her own business which she started after splitting with her agency. Her promoter told her to sign with an agency linked with Burning Productions, which is rumored to have connections with Yakuza-Japan’s criminal organization and after refusing to sign the contract, they started to harass her and her family. In one video, Taniguchi marched into her dressing room trying to drag her out of the studio by the arm..it’s hard to believe that this type of thing can happen in a developed country but unfortunately life isn’t fair..and what she did (setting up a rival company) is against the social norm so public wouldn’t welcome her and her business with open arms especially because Japanese society does not like conflict and public attentions.

Finally she filed a formal grievance against Tanigushi when she was denied the right to hand over her crown to her successor at the Miss Japan ceremony on Tuesday. Taniguchi denies the accusations of obstruction of business, stalking, intimidation and extortion..wow..it is true that women are easily targeted everywhere and it is especially true in Japan because women still struggle to compete with men socially but this woman is courageous for standing up for herself but she will continue to struggle in Japanese society because what she did was kind of taboo-forming her own business instead of signing with a major talent agency..then filing criminal charges against a powerful executive.
