White Day was on March 14th in Japan

There is a romantic day called “White Day” in Japan. It’s on March 14th, and it used to be my favorite holiday. Valentine wasn’t the most exciting event for me, because girls are expected to give chocolate to their boyfriends or guy friends and family. I rather receive than giving chocolate. 🙂

White Day is a strange Japanese tradition, and it was first celebrated in 1978. Men who received gifts on Valentine’s Day are obligated to give something back on White Day. Of course this tradition was created by Japanese corporate culture. Even if you receive chocolate and don’t like the girl who gave you the chocolate, you have an option of not giving back then the girl would know that you aren’t into her. Normally men give candies in return on White Day, but if you are getting a gift for a special girl, jewelry might be appropriate.
